A Short Introduction..
If your reading this on your PDA while being lost in the desert at night with a 7 foot rhino suit then congratulations, your Google search has succeeded and, based on my experience, I am in the fortunate position to help you! Although if you are in such a predicament maybe a better use of your time would be to navigate to a local government website and alert them of the problem.
So here it is, a catalogue of experiences I have been fortunate enough to acquire while at the same time meeting many fantastic people. Running some of the most inhospitable places in the world does have its challenges, the highs and lows are relentless, the value gained is immeasurable. The challenge itself has taught me many things, the importance of preparation (feet, equipment etc), of planning (water supply, food), of strategy (when to run and when to walk) and the importance of teamwork.
For those of you who are contemplating your first 150 mile Ultramarathon I guarantee it will be an experience of a lifetime. If nothing else, the sunsets are amazing! Read on..
Future Challenges
While out in Chile at the finisher’s ceremony of the Atacama Crossing Rory, the
race director of the Marathon of Britain mentioned to us the possibility of getting together a team for Save the Rhino.
This looks likely for September 2008, Save the Rhino are recruiting

Around the World in Seven Marathons..
I have always attempted to achieve different activities that have pushed me either mentally or physically. I have often found myself setting goals that I really didn’t have any idea on how I would achieve them, then just finding a way! In the summer of 2005 I had achieved my single biggest challenge to date, completing the 150 mile Marathon des Sables (in Morocco, Africa). It was then that I decided I would use this experience to achieve a bigger goal, that to run at least a marathon in each of the seven continents of the world…
Now that was in 2005, since then I have completed the Atacama Crossing (in Chile, South America) and the London Marathon (in the United Kingdom, Europe). My goal over the next 2 years is to run a further 4 marathons in Asia, North America, Australia and Antarctica, to achieve this goal.
I am looking around for different marathons which will enable me to fulfil this goal. I will be getting this section of the website updated with more information as and when I complete the marathons, any suggestions please contact me.
